Welcome to the Niemann Elementary School website! Our school is located at the corner of Tryon Road and Royal Road, on the east side of Michigan City. Niemann is one of nine elementary schools in the MCAS district, and is a Title I Schoolwide School. Presently there are approximately 304 students in grades K through 5.
Niemann has a highly qualified and caring staff that is dedicated to the success of all students. Our school improvement plan focuses on strategies to improve student achievement in reading and math. Niemann emphasizes the importance of high quality instruction and uses student data to drive instruction, and plan student interventions as needed. Our staff has implemented PBS (Positive Behavior Supports) to maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment for all (see PAWS behavior expectations below).
