Thank you for visiting the Marsh Elementary website. Our school is located at 401 Homer Street in Michigan City, Indiana. Marsh School has been serving our community for over 100 years. Marsh Elementary School is considered the last of the neighborhood schools. We are one of nine elementary schools in the Michigan City Area Schools District. Marsh accommodates approximately 300 students from Pre-K through fifth grade. We offer a variety of support systems and services to support a variety of student learning needs including Special Education Service, Response to Intervention, Speech Therapy, ENL, and we have a fully staffed Safe Harbor Program on site. Each child is special and will be encouraged to achieve his/her own fullest potential.
At Marsh, student achievement is top priority. We are dedicated to providing a safe and caring learning environment for all students and staff. We at Marsh School are like a family. Like a family, it takes the entire staff to provide encouragement, guidance, and leadership. Marsh School made AYP again this year based on Spring ISTEP results. AYP is determined by student performance and participation rates on the state's ISTEP+ tests (grades 3, 4, and 5) in English /Language Arts and Math as well as student attendance rates. The State of Indiana gave Marsh School a letter grade of A, showing that we made Exemplary Progress. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR SCHOOL!
We believe in an old African Proverb, "IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD" . YOU, the parent(s), are an important part of that village.
