Spelling Bee

ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY

Students in grades three, four, and five may participate in our yearly Joy Elementary Spelling Bee competition. During the winter, each third, fourth, and fifth grade teacher will conduct spelling bee contest with their students. The champion of each class will then participate in a school level competition. A champion at each grade level and an overall school champion will be determined in this competition. The Joy Elementary Spelling Bee Champion will then move on to the LaPorte County Spelling Bee Competition.

Students may prepare for local spelling bees using a variety of materials provided by Joy Elementary and the Scripps National Spelling Bee. A complete listing of eligibility requirements and study resources may be found at http://www.spellingbee.com/.
