Honor Society

Springfield's National Elementary Honor Society members have been hard
at work this year. Members began the year by helping to restore the
planter on the playground with some beautiful new perennials. They have
taken part in a Springfield Staff Appreciation initiative by creating
cards of thanks for all staff members. Each Tuesday during lunch recess,
you can find NEHS members helping out in the library by shelving books.
In January, NEHS members will be gearing up to kick-off Math-a-thon, a
fundraiser to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

New members will be inducted in mid- March. Look for more information
about this fantastic group of student leaders.

Induction Ceremony for new members will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 6:00pm.

The process of selecting eligible candidates is under way. Students must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible. They must be in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade, and enrolled at Springfield for a period equivalent to one semester. They must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 on a 4 point scale, and have demonstrated personal responsibility.

Mrs. Sobecki is the Faculty Adviser for the chapter.
