Edgewood School a place where students think, dream, believe and achieve.

I have been a member of the Michigan City Area Schools family for over 30 years. It is an honor to serve as the building leader for Edgewood School. Over the years, I have held the positions of assistant principal at both Pine and Lake Hills, literacy coach, general education and special needs teacher.

The mission of our school is to provide high quality education, in a safe and nurturing environment while emphasizing a relevant curriculum based on state standards. We encourage all students to have a positive attitude toward learning and work cooperatively in achieving their personal best.

In order to achieve academic success, all staff work collaboratively and use data to drive instruction. Differentiation of instruction is used to meet student needs. Our teachers are highly qualified and take pride in their craft. Our school has a Building Leadership Team that meets regularly to address school goals and concerns with staff, parents and community.

Home-School communication is essential for student success. It is essential that your child comes to school ready to learn. At home set up a routine for homework. Make sure your child reads every night and gets a good night’s sleep. I encourage you to access grade book on line and sign up for the two scheduled Parent/Teacher conference dates. It is important for you to use the weekly folders to communicate with your child’s teacher.

Edgewood is very fortunate to have an extended family of dedicated parents and community members involved with our staff and students. Please become active in the Edgewood School Association (ESA). They are always looking for new members.

I believe that communication is the key to student success; therefore do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
