Joy's Curriculum Coach
My name is Christine Rehak and I am the curriculum coach at Joy Elementary School. I have recently moved from Illinois to Indiana and this is my first year in the Michigan City Area School System. Prior to coming to Joy, I have taught primary, intermediate and junior high level children in Illinois, Oregon, and Puerto Rico. I have served as a Title I remedial reading teacher and as a curriculum consultant in Justice, Illinois as well as an assistant principal in Portland, Oregon. My most recent position was as a Reading Recovery Teacher and Reading Specialist in Plainfield, Illinois.
My husband, Jim and I, have four lovely children and nine awesome grandchildren. My eldest grandson is studying to be a pharmacist. We are fortunate to have all of our grandchildren on the honor roll and all are involved in extra curriculuar activities: sports, drama and speech. My hobbies including reading, quilting, traveling and antique hunting.
