I attended Chicago State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Safety Education.  I minored in business education.  My first teaching position was at West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois.  I taught Physical Education and coached Swimming for ten years.

   I began a construction building partnership with my brother in 1985.  We began rehabbing homes on the South Side of Chicago, and continued this for five years.  We then began building only new construction single family homes in Northwest Indiana.  We started out with a 35 home subdivision, which took several years to complete, and expanded to 35 duplex homes, condominium buildings, offices, and custom homes from 2350 to 9000 square feet.

   I have been married to my wife Maggie for 23 years and we have a son who is 13 years old.  My wife is a school counselor at Valparaiso High School, and my son just started 7th grade, also in Valparaiso.  He is an outstanding member of the Crown Point Swim Club.

   I decided to return to the classroom to teach a vocation that I have a great deal of knowledge for.  I feel my education and work experienc3e have given me the knowledge to be an outstanding vocational instructor.
