V65700: Automotive Technology I

2 Semesters, 6 Credits

Grade Level: 10-12

Automotive Technology I gives the student the opportunity to study in-depth the many different facets of the automotive service trades.The learner will receive training in electrical systems, brakes, suspension systems and engine performance.The student will have access to sub systems such as heating & cooling where certification in the field of air conditioning is very marketable in the workforce today.The student will develop a desirable attitude toward work and quality performance. New, starting this year students can achieve Technical Proficiencies from the Indiana State Certification. This certification is recognized statewide. Automotive Technology I is a prerequisite for Automotive Technology II.

Certification: State of Indiana, Certificates of Technical Achievement. MACS, R12 Refrigerant, Automotive Welding, Hours toward ASE Certification in brakes, suspension systems, engine performance, AC/heating, automatic transmission/Transaxle, manual transmission, and electrical systems

V65730: Automotive Technology II

2 Semesters, 6 Credits

Grade Level: 11-12

The Automotive Technology II student will continue his/her studies with in-depth experiences in engine rebuilding, A/C repair, manual transmission and transaxle as well as automatic transmission rebuilding.The student will also receive advanced training in fuel injection and many specialized automotive fields for today’s Automotive Technician.Successful completion of this program will present the student with the skills required to enter into many areas of this profession.
