Michigan City High School is committed to improving student achievement. We realize that regularly assessing academic progress is essential in identifying which skills students are deficient in. This information not only tells us where kids are in terms of learning skills and content standards, but it also provides us with specific information on where we, as teachers, need to target our classroom instruction.
Algebra Acuity Predictive Assessments take place in November, February, and March. See the Assessment Calendar for exact dates. Acuity is a formative assessment that accurately predicts how individual students are likely to perform on the Algebra ECA. Any student enrolled in Algebra I or a Math Lab class has access to Acuity's Instructional Resources to help them master the Algebra standards. To access these resources from home, visit www.acuityathome.com. To find out how your child performed on the last Acuity Predictive Assessment, contact his/her Algebra teacher or Mrs. Roach at ext. 4342.

The SRI, or Scholastic Reading Inventory, is given three times during the school year to all 9th and 10th grade students. This important assessment measures a child's reading level in Lexiles and allows us to monitor whether students are reading at, above, or below grade level. Click here to access the SRI Lexile Proficiency Chart. For more information on your child's lexile score, contact Mrs. Roach at ext. 4342.
