Honor Society Selection

Eligibility:  A junior or senior with a GPA of 3.2 or better this year is eligible for consideration.  This number will be changing for the current underclassmen.

In addition to scholarship, selection for Honor Society requires assessment in three other categories: character, leadership and service.

Process:  The eligible candidates are informed by letter and invited to a meeting to learn about Honor Society.  It is up to the student to choose to attend if he/she is interested.  At that meeting, information is given about Honor Society expectations and students fill out paperwork for the three other assessments.  These are given to the appropriate teachers, coaches, sponsors, etc. for evaluation.  The final selection rests with the members of the faculty committee, who are presented with the evaluations and who are charged with making those decisions.

Service requires six activities or awards/honors over the course of the student's years in high school (for juniors).  Character and leadership are subjective scores from teachers, coaches, and club sponsors.
