 Dear Parents,

   Welcome to 2nd grade.  We are working very hard in reading, language, math, social studies, and science.  To have a successful year, make sure you make it a habit to read every day with your child, help your child with his/her homework, and please communicate with me any concerns or celebrations.

Hello I want to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Michigan City.   After graduating from Marquette High School, I went to Purdue University.  Upon graduating from Purdue I got a job at Mullen, which is Lake Hills now. Then, I taught at Queen of All Saints for a year.  I came to Joy as a Title 1 teacher and have been at Joy ever since.    I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.  Currently I am teaching 2nd grade. 

While teaching, I went to night school and earned my masters in education at Purdue North Central.

 

I am married and have two boys.  One of them goes to Michigan City High School and the other one goes to Indiana University.  Both of my boys went to Joy School.  I could not think of a better place for them to go to school.
